LIGHT OF THE WORLD

(Matthew 5:16) In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

This verse reminds us that the light we shine is not our own; it comes from Jesus. In the Gospel of John 8:12, Jesus Himself says, I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. Therefore, when we shine, we represent Christ through our lives. It means living a good life and being an excellent example to others. When we are kind, truthful, and loving, people notice something different within us something that points beyond ourselves. Our good deeds are not intended to bring us praise, but to help others see the goodness and love of God. As Jesus taught, our actions should lead people to glorify our Father in heaven. In the Holy Scriptures, light often symbolizes living close to God, while darkness represents living far from Him. The light begins in our hearts when we turn to God and place our faith in Him. From there, we shine through our words and actions every day. Ultimately, our lives should be a mirror, reflecting Christ to others and inspiring them to know and glorify God.
