There are times in life when we feel completely helpless when problems surround us like a heavy stone we cannot remove. In such moments, it is easy to think that no help is coming. But the Word of God reminds us otherwise.
In the Book of Isaiah (58:9), we hear a powerful promise: “Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and He will say, ‘Here I am!” What great comfort it is to know that God is not far away. He hears every cry, every silent tear, and every burden we carry. When we call upon Him, He responds.
Life’s challenges do not come to destroy us; rather, they come to draw us closer to God. Often, we try to carry everything by our own strength. But there are burdens as heavy as a stone, blocking the path of our lives, burdens we cannot remove with our own hands. We need God’s help, as the psalmist reminds us in the Book of Psalms (121:2): “My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” The One who created heaven and earth is able to handle everything that weighs us down.
Even when we do not understand what we are going through, we must remember that God has a purpose. In the Book of Isaiah (43:19), He says: "Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." This means there is no situation too dry, too broken, or too hopeless for God to transform. Where we see a desert, God sees a place where rivers can flow.
Therefore, let us not allow challenges to discourage us, but instead let them draw us closer to God. Let them strengthen our faith and remind us that we are not alone.
Today, whatever burden you are carrying, bring it before the Lord. Trust in Him and hold on to Him, because in every storm, God is still your help, your strength, and your only way to victory.
Amen.
